Imperator: Invictus is a mod for the grand strategy game Imperator: Rome, a community continuation of its development after Paradox Interactive ceased official updates.
It naturally became the most popular Imperator: Rome mod, reaching over 150,000 unique users on official platforms alone, not counting manual installations.
The mod is written in Paradox's proprietary scripting language and is supported by a team of volunteer modders. I joined a few years into its development to improve the AI using my skills and experience.
The game's AI suffered from numerous issues, but over a few months of work I managed to resolve most of them, eventually building up to a significant overhaul.
Community engagement
While introducing major improvements, I put a lot of effort into promoting them and the mod within the Paradox community. To clearly communicate AI changes, I wrote a detailed developer diary for each update (1.9.1, 1.9.2, 1.10, 1.10.1), and even created a video overview for the final update, covering all the changes.
